The Friday Edit: Vol. 6

What I did this week:

This was another basic work week, I was in Weagamow First Nation (aka Round Lake aka North Caribou Lake – although I did learn this week that it is Weagamow, which translates into English as Round Lake, but the settlers named it North Caribou which is now it’s government name – and now it makes so much more sense). This is going to sound so weird, because I’m not a teacher, but we are at 9 out of 11 of these program days and I feel like I’m really hitting my stride with “classroom control”. I feel like I can finally bring the students back after they have had activity so that we can do the instructions for the next activity. It was a proud moment.

It’s also been so weirdly empty at the office, it feels like a lockdown days again, because there are so many people travelling at the moment.

Fun // Interesting // Introspective

Crucial gym etiquette.

You can do everything right and still be broke. (Also in that article is a link a a Facebook group on personal finance for Black women, I obviously can’t explicitly recommend the group since I am not in it for obvious reasons, but if it is anything like her interview it will be great).

Cozy lounge set round up.

Journal prompts for thinking about relationships.

Pussy ass bitch. Pure glee.

I have been in my baked oats era.

How to get better sleep if you are wake up in the middle of the night person.

On TikTok dating “advice”.

Cozy homes.

“So why are you interested in this position?”

Over the body positive river and the body neutrality woods to body liberation we go.

I’ve been thinking a lot about cleanliness lately, see this article and this video (obsessed with Mina Le lately).

Discipline (also here, I find it interesting when I start to see theme in the media I consume).

Taylor Swift becoming the fun drunk auntie at awards shows is my new favorite trait of hers.

Workaholism and mental health.

The resurgence of personal blogging (heyyyyy).
