The overall favorite for this week is that I got to mostly work from home, Monday – Wednesday I worked from my pet sit. I was supposed to also work from home Thursday and Friday, but I had to go into the office for a project that was assigned to me at the last minute (of course). But working from home is so nice. You can make a fresh coffee literally whenever, you don’t have to get ready properly, you can wear athleisure all day, you don’t have to wear a mask, I can make a hot breakfast, I can sleep in a bit (even with walking the dogs before work). It is fantastic.
Another note, is that it is my last pet sitting job. I’m not going to say ever, you never know how the tables can turn, but I have no plans to return to it any time soon. I am really, really looking forward to only having one job for the first time since I was 15.
Social Media Favorite: Eli Rallo
I just started following her on Instagram, she comes up on my for you page sometimes with her “Lists for…/Rules for…” videos. They aren’t all relatable to me, she lives in New York and I live in a small town in Northwestern Ontario, she is in her early 20s and I just turned 29 so we have our differences. But they are funny and quippy and generally enjoyable.
Movie/TV Favorite: Merlin
I think this is a kid’s show, but it is a nice easy watch and decently entertaining. It’s been my background show this week.
Podcast Favorite: This week’s Giggly Squad
This episode had me laughing out loud while walking my pet sitting dogs on Tuesday evening. I kept looking down to hide my laughter so people wouldn’t think I was a crazy lady on the streets. The story about the man in the background of Paige’s photos in their Express shoot nearly took me out – and the make up artist. I’m laughing again.
Also, this reminded me how much of a power move their podcast name is, they were getting told off at the dinner table by one of the friend’s 40-year old frat boy boyfriend and he called them the giggly squad down there and they ran with it. I love it so much.
Random Favorite 1: Blackened Salmon with Pineapple Pico
This has been one of my long-time favorite recipes. Unfortunately, I found it when I was deep in my diet culture phase and so it is from Tone It Up, but don’t let that deter you, it is seriously one of the most delicious dinner recipes I have.
Random Favorite 2: It’s Corn
I think that one viral Tik Tok sound of the little boy talking about how much he loves corn really got to me because I have eaten 5 ears of corn on the cob this week. And I regret nothing.
Have a great weekend,
Laura
