Friday Favorites: Afternoon breezes and afternoon tea

I don’t know which of us is more excited that we can sometimes open the windows in the afternoon. I am still out of the house pet sitting, but I go home everyday to take care of my wee beast and I’ve been opening the windows to let the stale winter air out.

This week has been a blur, I loved that it was a short week. I loved the four-day weekend, but there was way too much work for a short week, whew. But even though it was a short week I am so ready for the weekend again.

Social Media Favorite: Olivia Muenter

Olivia has become one of my top 10 favorite follows. She seems so authentic and is so funny. You know those people who the more you get to know them, the more they reinforce your first impression of them, Olivia is one of those people. I loved watching her and her husband travel, I love the tipsy makeup and tipsy candles, she’s an influencer who seems to still be having fun with social media. Which seems to have become so rare? I know it’s their job and sometimes no matter how much you generally like your job you have days where you hate your job and when your job is showing up on social media that will come across, but somehow she always seems to be enjoying her job.

TV/Movie Favorite: White Hot: The Rise and Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch

I do really wish that they had covered the rise, the fall, and the rise again. I do really think that Abercrombie’s recovery from one of the greatest business falls of the 2000s to being a darling again and having it’s jeans become one of the most popular brands of jeans out there again is absolutely fascinating.

There were also things that I didn’t know about how bad A&F really was, I knew about the racism, sexism, fatphobia, etc. but there was some stuff that I did not know about that makes it so much worse. The aftermath, the recovery of the brand is even more interesting knowing all of this.

Podcast Favorite: Talks Too Much With Carla and Emily

This is a new to me podcast, and I’m really enjoying it. It’s very conversational, kind of like Bad on Paper, but Carla and Emily are siblings, so they have different conversations than friends do. I really enjoyed this solo episode that Carla did about feeling confident in a swim suit.

Random Favorite 1: Scones with jam and cream

I made a cream tea for Easter Monday and I have had leftover scones for basically the whole week, and it was a lovely afternoon snack with a cup of tea at 3pm.

Random Favorite 2: Harney and Sons Paris Tea

Speaking of, this tea is one of the best teas that I have ever drunk. It’s not so sweet that it feels gross, but it has this subtle sweet vanilla taste that is so lovely. I normally take milk with my coffee and tea, but with this I don’t, it’s so lovely on it’s own. And the tin is gorgeous.

Have a lovely weekend!
