Friday Favorites: Pilates and Blankets

Hi friends, happy long weekend! Corporate jobs take a lot of flack, but this is the first job that I’ve ever had all long weekends off and it is thrilling. Especially because in Canada we take Good Friday and Easter Monday! So it’s a four-day weekend! How exciting is that? I, as per usual have no plans because I am pet sitting, but this dog is much more low maintenance than the last puppy, so I think I might be able to sleep in this weekend, which is thrilling.

We also had a wild snowstorm starting on Wednesday, we got a bit of a reprieve last night and I dug my car out and shoveled a path, the rest I’m counting on spring to take care of.

Social Media Favorite: Geena Hunt

I’ve mentioned Geena a few times in my Sephora sale posts and shopping lists but I haven’t put her in here yet, but Geena may have been the influencer to influence me the fastest on anything. There really is something about seeing products on the same skin tone, hair colour, even eyebrow colour as yourself. I trust her make up recommendations completely, and her personality seems so cute!

Movie/TV Favorite:

Is anyone else really bored with all the movies and TV shows you have available to you. Like I sit and I scroll for ages across YouTube, Netflix, Prime, Disney+, and I either have seen it before or I’m just not interested in it at all. I did just finish Prodigal Son on Netflix and it was good, but only 2 seasons so I’m through it already of course. And as I’m writing this I’m starting Warrior Nun and it’s a bit weird, but so far so good. But just nothing that I’m loving at the moment

Podcast Favorite: Tenfold More Murder Parts 1 & 2

Tenfold More Wicked is one of the podcasts that is part of Karen and Georgia of My Favorite Murder‘s podcast network and for the past two weeks they have had a cross over episode and Kate Winkler Dawson, the host of Tenfold More Wicked is telling Karen and Georgia the story of a serial murder in Notting Hill, London in post-war London. It’s very good and I must just start listening to Tenfold More Wicked. It feels very original My Favorite Murder, when they are just telling each other stories, before they were super worried about the opinions of the audience (although it helps that Kate is fastidious in her research, unlike Karen and Georgia, so there is much less likelihood she will make an error.)

Random Favorite 1: The Pilates Class

I am loving these work out classes, they are challenging and definitely a workout, but the length of each class is perfect and while they are challenging they don’t make me hate myself. And the amazing thing with Pilates is how quickly it impacts your posture. I love Pilates so much, especially mat Pilates, and I’m loving these classes so much.

Random Favorite 2: Indigo blankets

I feel like all Canadians know about these, formerly Chapters blankets but when they re-branded so did the blankets. They do specials every year, typically around Christmas, where if you spend more than a certain amount of money you get an $80 blanket for $35. They are so soft, so comfortable, and they actually last a really long time. I’ve had mine for close to 5 years, and it was a hand-me-down from my mom. They are so good.
