Mid-Week Procrastination

I’m having another week where I am super exhausted and am struggling to get out of bed at a decent time each morning. If you read my birthday reflections post, I realized that the only goal I set last year that I didn’t met were my “physical” or health ones. So I’ve made a plan to not have that happen again this year, however it either makes my evenings very busy or I have to get up much earlier, and I am tired now lol. I think I need to figure out how to balance it out a bit, or it won’t last, which I think is typically the problem. But anyways, tired weeks require better mid-week procrastination, so let’s get into it.

Intentionally talking to yourself.

The best episodes of Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown (I bought his post-humously released book this weekend and am super excited to read it).

I’m a little nervous about how quickly the weather will cool up here, it’s still July and I’m already starting to wonder about fall/winter clothing (I am not normally like this, I like to shop for fall in August, Christmas in December, etc.).

How to maintain friends as you move through different life stages.

How TikTok is showing us that things we thought were unique to us, are actually pretty universal.

I can’t believe I’m at the age where I have friends who have toddlers, I still think I’m not mature enough to get married, I’m not a child bride. But here’s a pretty gift guide for toddlers.

I’m loving the attitude shift we are seeing across all industries, but most publicly in sport, about how no job is worth it. Your mental, emotional, physical wellbeing is more important than any job. And of course it is women of colour (Simone Biles, Naomi Osaka) leading the charge.

I think this might only be in Europe, but Instagram has rolled out a setting so that accounts for kids under 16 are automatically private and they have to opt out of a private account and I really like that.

After everything that the USA did to Hawai’i and all the bans on Native Hawai’ians surfing and competing as professional surfers for years, it is super cool that a Native Hawai’ian won gold in the first Olympics surfing competition.

Even the GOATs are human.

A very thoughtful Q&A about balancing returning to the office when your whole office isn’t.

73 Questions with Lorde.

I’ve started listening to the U Up podcast again and I had forgotten how good and hilarious it is!

Have a great rest of your week!
