A Week in Outfits

I don’t know if I’ve ever understood the idea, the phrase “I need a vacation” more than I do at this point in my life. I don’t know if how I feel can be classified as burn out, or exhaustion, or just being an adult, but weekends are no longer enough time for me to recover from the week before and each week is too much.

High: I think I made a new friend. We had a new hire back in January, but she didn’t move until May thanks to how tough the housing market is here in town. So I took her for coffee on Saturday and it was really nice.

Low: I think the whole intro covers the low. I am so tired, but I can’t seem to relax, or go to bed at reasonable hours. You would think that because I am so tired I would have rested all weekend and be in bed by 10pm every night, but I’m actively engaging in revenge bedtime procrastination, and constantly coming up with new apartment projects and ideas and creative projects, and I don’t know how to stop.

Monday//

What I did: Work from home, freaked out a little

What I wore: Matching set – old – Joe Fresh, slippers – L.L. Bean

Tuesday//

What I did: Worked from the office, we are going back to the office half time/half capacity starting May 24 and I am uncertain how I feel about it.

What I wore: Dress – Reitmans, Tights – Snag, Shoes – old – Vionic

Peep the shoes, I leave these at the office, they’re comfy, but they’re suede so not the most durable.

Wednesday//

What I did: Worked from the office, ran an evening program at the local First Nations’ High School

What I wore: Sweater – Retimans, Jeans – Reitmans, Sneakers – Superga (I switched to my Vessis for the evening since it was supposed to rain)

Thursday//

What I did: Work from home, go to bed early I was shattered.

What I wore: Hoodie – old – Joe Fresh, t-shirt – old – Dex, leggings – Aerie

Friday//

What I did: very early meeting with people in Paris, France, work half from the office (I had to take all the stuff from the program back and organize it), and half from home

What I wore: Blue and White Stripe Blouse – Reitmans, Jeans – Reitmans, Sneakers – Vessi

Saturday & Sunday//

What I did: Coffee with a friend, returned coolers borrowed from colleagues for my program, cleaned kitchen, a ton of laundry from cleaning out my closet

What I wore: Hoodie – old – Joe Fresh, Leggings – Aerie

Honestly, the improvement in my outfits in the past few weeks is absolutely remarkable. I don’t know if it’s the fresh order of clothes from Reitmans or spring weather or what, but we are feeling much better about the outfits we’re wearing.

Goals for this week: get enough rest, get to Winnipeg and have a great weekend!
