I am so close to finishing this ^ but I ran out of thread, AGAIN, and while the thread itself is inexpensive, shipping to get it here was like $15, making the skein I just ordered a $20 skein, and I don’t know if I can stomach that again, so it may have to wait until I am at a Michaels that stocks it again, or if I can find it at one of the needlepoint stores in Winnipeg or Minneapolis.
This week was another doozy, I am so exhausted. It doesn’t help that I was up at 4:30 for a 5:30 meeting happening at 12:30 Paris time, it was tough. I think I need a vacation. I don’t know when or where, but I do think I need a proper vacation, not a trip, but a vacation.
Don’t forget the real plot of Dirty Dancing.
I started hot girl walking last year, but it’s really taken off this year.
The most beautiful streets in the world.
25 books that Grace Atwood says are great beach reads, and I haven’t read a bad recommendation from Grace.
Tips to feel better in your body this summer.
Nantucket is one of my absolute dream vacation locations.
I love Rep. Katie Porter, her white board and her purple marker.
I love these white linen pant outfits.
A Simple Favor is one of the oddest movies I’ve ever seen, but I am done for a sequel.
Free places to visit in Paris to bring down the cost of your trip.
This is a really interesting profile of Nellie Diamond, founder of Hill House Home. It kind of feels like they wanted to dislike her, but couldn’t. I think this is a reflection of something larger, the Nepo-baby stuff on TikTok, the seeking out of Tinx’s old tweets (as objectively awful as they were), there seems to be a desire to tear down people who were born wealthy. We don’t get choose what life we are born into, and yeah their parents’ money allows them to have access to a different type of education, maybe they start on 3rd base (I would put Nell and Tinx on second base and Kylie Jenner on third base, but small potatoes), but what do we feel the need to dislike them as people because they took advantage of the opportunities their birth presented them? I don’t know. I just don’t know.
The kitchen in this Connecticut mansion is literally my dream.
Have a great weekend!
