This is a discussion for another day, but this is a lot harder to keep up with as my life gets busier. I know we joke about this, with the “I know my friends are doing better when they are almost never posting on social media” memes and tweets. But it is hard to prioritize your internet life when you are prioritizing your real life. Like, on Friday night I had a board games night at my place, and I meant to take pictures for a blog post, but I was having a good time and I didn’t. Anyways, that’s a long winded way of saying I was busy, and then tired and didn’t get this post up for Saturday, even though I had it planned for Saturday! But anyways, let’s go.

Also, the cover photos for this post is a trip. There are so many lakes and beaches up here so I have now experienced both leaf-cronching on the beach and snow on the beach and I don’t know if I’m mentally prepared for this lol.

The Oscars contenders lists are starting to come out and give us time to watch the movies before Awards Season.

Speaking of the board games night, we played this game called Let’s Fucking Date (not available, but her sexier games are available here), which is just cards with questions on them to get to know other people, and one of the questions that I’m still thinking about is “What is something you’ve realized about yourself this year?”. At the time, I said that I’m not as good with money as I thought. But I’ve also been thinking about how I have stopped telling white lies to protect other people’s feelings, not to the point that I’m a bitch, but to the point that I’m honest. And so this article about lying to ourselves hit a little bit differently.

What if I’m never “successful”?

Soup girls are hot girls and this butternut squash soup with crispy sage is definitely a hot girl soup.

I’m not ready to put my tree up yet, but this really makes me want to make a whole day of it and get special snacks and have a bunch of fun with it.

I love this “by life stage” gift guide.

Grace’s favourite books to give as gifts.

Carly wrote this really eloquent piece about how we don’t or won’t share the deep stuff in real time. And as content creators, is that a good thing or a bad thing??

This was really interesting to learn the theory behind shelf styling that the pros use.

I made this Half-Baked Harvest spicy ginger pomegranate paloma for Friday night, and it was so good!

I hope you have a great rest of your weekend! It’s snowing again and the wind is insane so I will be staying in my apartment sheltering from the storm!
