I can’t remember if I said it on here last week, but I was starting to feel a little useless at work, like I wasn’t doing enough or that I had gotten through the intro/transition work a bit too quickly and that they didn’t have anything for me to do. However, this week I am starting to feel the workload kick in and I’m really excited! Although one of the things I hated most in grad school was the video assignment in my health promotion class and what did I suggestion as a health promotion product this week? A video. I hate storyboarding so much. And picking music, it’s the absolute worst.
But this post is supposed to be about what I like not about what I hate (although talking about what you hate/don’t like is sometimes more fun).
Instagram Obsession: @theblackequestrian
I love seeing people excelling in spaces that are so extremely gatekeeped to them. Shaq Blake is a Black, female, fat equestrienne and she just owns her space. Everyone pictures equestrians as these beautiful, slim, rich, white women so anyone who is different from that is just so cool.
TV: I mean given how much of an obsession WandaVision was for me is it any surprise that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is currently an obsession??? I mean Sebastian Stan alone would make it, from Gossip Girl until now he has been perfection, and I just love when Marvel is funny. It can get so serious but I think it is at it’s best when it’s funny (like Thor: Ragnarok, Iron Man, Spider Man, etc.). I am also still at the confused stage with it which I’m kind of loving. I love how much time we have with the story with the shows. I still love and enjoy the movies, but the time, detail, and side stories that the shows are able to have add so much depth and richness to the story that I so enjoy.
3. Podcast: The Cut. I love nearly everything that New York Magazine does, but sometimes the Cut to me can just seem too frivolous, too pop culture, to “female” in that way where we need news dumbed down or something like that. But the podcast is introspective and thought-provoking. I put this episode in this week’s Mid-Week Procrastination post, but I just loved this discussion of being nice or kind and the power that niceness can have but the importance of true kindness.
Music: Is there any other option here this week??? Taylor Swift re-released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and I have laughed, I have cried, I have danced around my kitchen, and sung in the shower. I remember every single word, even to songs I have totally forgotten existed. I will be listening all weekend so come feel this magic I’ve been feeling because mmm I can’t help myself. Can you tell that Hey Stephen is currently my favourite song??
So far I’m not that into the vault tracks, except for Mr. Perfectly Fine. I also don’t really think I’m that much of a ballad person, definitely more of an upbeat, bop-type person. Although, White Horse, Fifteen, and Breathe are like gut punches. Breathe had me crying in the shower this morning (TMI? maybe).
5. I’ve taken to wearing perfume “to work”. Normally I can’t wear it to work because of scent-free office policies (which I totally get, very fair) but I’ve been loving actually using some of the product I have (maybe an accidental product of my Project Pan). My favourite at the moment is the Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensée.

Ontario is back in a stay-at-home order so my plans include groceries, being flabbergasted at the cost of garbage tags (I have to buy these stickers to stick on my garbage bags, it’s not included in property taxes here), and doing curbside pick-up at this cute little store up here called NW Goods, they have bulk refill of cleaning supplies and I’m going to get stocked up on all-purpose cleaner and toilet cleaner tabs. Thrilling.
Have a great weekend!
