What I’m Buying in November

Short form: not much. This is a very boring, very practical monthly shopping list.

  • One. Hemming tape. I wasn’t expecting to buy this, but I didn’t have enough and now have a flap on one of my curtain panels and it looks so bad.
  • Two. Ice Melt. Winter is fully and properly here and it’s time to do snow removal.
  • Three. Coolant. This is largely to soothe my paranoia about my car since it’s issues with overheating.
  • Four. Small Velcro Command Strips. I had hung some of my Rifle Paper Co. prints weeks ago, but hadn’t had enough command strips, and it had been several months of an incomplete gallery wall. It is now complete.
  • Five. I snapped my ice scraper cleaning ice off my car on Monday morning.
  • Six. Drawer pulls. I am determined to find hardware for the dresser I striped and refinished last summer (yes, July 2022). These are shinier than I would like, but I’m learning that the holes in the drawer fronts are an unusual distance apart, so my options are more limited than I expected.
  • Seven. Light bulbs. I have had a burnt out bulb in my bathroom for over a year, and I bought a floor lamp in October that needed a light bulb. And that finally gave me the motivation to remember that I needed light bulbs.

And that’s the shopping list for the month. There is no fun spending this month, I need a hard reset on spending after the past five months. You can read about how I am doing a No-Spend November in this post.

The hard part is going to be Black Friday for sure, there are so many good sales and I learned last year that it is such a luxury to be able to shop sales and to have the money to be able buy things when they are on sale and not when you have saved up for them or when you have to; but I don’t think I’m in that place this year.
