It was an incredible week. I spent the whole week in Southern Ontario; Monday to Friday afternoon in Guelph, Friday evening to Sunday morning in Cambridge (which is a new spot for me) and Sunday afternoon driving across the Southern Ontario home to my parents’ house. It was so nice to pretend live in Guelph for the week. I say this everytime I am in Southern Ontario, but I think especially this time because I was working this week, I am so motivated to get back down here. There’s just so much to do, but you also have access to the same amount of nothing to do, it’s all in how you plan your time. And I love being able to go to restaurants, antique markets, meet with my girls in person, and get beauty treatments. And it took me 30 minutes to drive to my friend’s wedding hotel, which I probably would only have done for Saturday night if I actually lived here. It’s just so nice.
And yes, it is more expensive to live in Southern Ontario, but not really that much. I got a week’s groceries for $70, that probably would have been over $100 up north. Instead of flying for weddings and holidays, I can just drive a few hours – or less than an hour, instead of a few hundred on flights. Ideally, I would live in a town that didn’t require I own a car. Realistically, I know that I would eat up any savings I would have in actual living expenses in eating out, going out, shopping, a gym membership, and spin or Pilates classes.
Last week’s high: It was just such a good week, but I think the peaks were just getting to see people in person.
