A Week in Outfits

There is a required apology for the variety of mirrors and lighting situations this week. I was literally all over the province.

High: My little sister got married! I was home! My grandparents are here! I’m now in Guelph!

Low: This may be a larger discussion, but on the day of my sister’s wedding I was feeling very weird about how much moving away has excluded me from my family. I don’t want to live at home, or really in Eastern Ontario at all, but I definitely want to be closer.

Monday//

What I did: Went into Ottawa and got a dress and shoes for my sister’s wedding and a Sephora stock up, which I have been putting off for a couple months.

What I wore: Dress – Old – Hill House Home (same silhouette)

Tuesday night//

What I did: During the day we drove over from Renfrew and stopped at Madwaska Coffee in Barry’s Bay, and went straight to the venue and started setting up. Then we checked into the hotel and I tore around the room I was sharing with my sister’s best friend and maid-of-honour Meagan and got ready for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. This was my rehearsal dinner outfit.

What I wore: Dress – Old – J.Crew (via Poshmark), Shoes – Old – Aldo (I don’t think these shoes are quite right, but they are what I had).

Wednesday morning//

What I did: Showered, got ready, took some videos and photos of my mom, sister, Grannies, and Meagan getting ready before running out to pick up the charcuterie boards and pick up ice for the bar and dropping it off at the venue and setting out the name cards at the dinner tables. Then sprinted back to the hotel to get ready (this picture is mid-getting ready).

What I wore: Dress – Old – Reitman’s

Wednesday afternoon/evening//

What I did: Attended my sister’s wedding, ran snacks for the Bride and Groom, was in charge of the lights lol

What I wore: Dress – Old – Laura (I didn’t think I’d be able to find a link, I got it for $59 two days before the wedding and Laura is not a $60 dress place at full price), Necklace – Laura, Shoes – Betsey Johnson (but I got them at Steve Madden), Fascinator – My Mom’s Closet.

Thursday//

What we did: went to the venue and did tear down, got lunch at Henrietta’s in Huntsville (killer sandwich), wandered up and down the main street in Huntsville, came back to the hotel and chilled for a bit, and then got dinner at The Little Place by the Lights in Huntsville.

What I wore: Bodysuit – Wilfred, Dress – Old – Hill House Home (same silhouette).

Side note: there is a weird confluence of Canadian brands and names of my family members. My dad is Wilfred and I am Laura.

Friday//

What we did: packed up the cars, my brother and his girlfriend went up to North Bay for her sister’s college graduation, my dad went on to pick up some farm thing, my sister and brother-in-law and his family went home to their house, my mom, grandparents, and I went on to Bracebrdige to explore and get lunch and then I came to Guelph and had dinner plans here before checking into my airbnb.

What I wore: Dress – Old – Reitman’s, Tights – WalMart, Loafers – Vionic.

Saturday//

What I did: Got coffee and wandered around the farmers market by myself. Met up for brunch, got groceries and a few bits for the week, dropped off my dry cleaning (we no longer have dry cleaning up in the region so I brought it down with me).

What I wore: Dress – Old – Hill House Home, Tights – Walmart (I need thicker tights for this dress)

Sunday//

What I did: Slept in, chilled and caught up on YouTube, went to the Aberfoyle Antique Market.

What I wore: Dress – Old – Hill House Home (same silhouette).

What a week, holy cow, no wonder I’ve been in bed most of the weekend!

Laura
