August in Review

This has been a really, really, really amazing summer. I am so sad it is coming to a close, but you can feel it in the air already. The nights are much cooler, it’s raining a lot more, fall is on its way.

Speaking of the rain, look at this light.

I also started going for walks again.

I went to the dentist for the first time in years and got told I have amazing teeth, and a toothpaste recommendation. I rode high on the teeth compliment for weeks.

Mid-way through the month I went down to Toronto for a wedding and had a fun city weekend,

starting with Dineen Coffee co.

Pistachio croissant and an iced oat latte.

In Toronto, there is this incredible fountain, the Berczy Park Dog Fountain, and it’s covered in all these statues of different types of dogs, and it’s such good people-watching.

It’s also very close to the St. Lawrence Market, which is a huge tourist attraction, and also just a really good market.

Then I did my very favourite thing, a hot Pilates class at Sweat & Tonic. I got there early and journalled in the cafe for a bit.

This class humbled me deeply.

And then it was wedding time!

My friends didn’t agree to put their lives on the Internet so here’s this blurry picture from the reception.

I stayed at One King West, I really liked staying there, it was very nice and in a great location.

Our girl.

We had to pick up some equipment from one of the communities and needed to use ratchet straps to make sure it was safe on the drive back. I was very proud of the muscle memory that just came back to me about how to use them. We used these a lot when we moved up from Tennessee and I couldn’t believe that I still remembered.

More walks.

After 2.5 years of living in this apartment and never having the thing in my toilet paper holder I am proud to say my toilet paper sitting on my vanity.

This album is PERFECT!

Here’s to a great long weekend and autumn,

Laura
