November Empties

One of the things I am most excited for in December is going home and going to Sephora. I know I should not care so much about getting to go to a store, but eee I do and I am PUMPED. Anyways, not the point of this post, since we’re talking about what I’ve used not what I’m getting, but they are slightly related. I feel like I am burning through product lately, I don’t know if it’s because it’s drier now or the shampoo wasn’t great or what, but I just feel like I’m using stuff up more quickly.

This is the first shampoo bar I have bought from the local zero waste store. And it was fine, it cleaned my hair, but it was just fine. I had to wash my hair more frequently and it took more dry shampoo to get me through off days. So while it was cheaper than most shampoo bars, I didn’t like it as much. I’m going to go to Kenora this weekend for some Christmas shopping, and I’m hoping Clay Moon Co. there will have some, otherwise I’m working through a travel size shampoo at the moment but it will run out soon.

This was the last of my purchases from my first-time-in-a-Shoppers-DrugMart-in-months blackout in June, again, fine. Definitely not as good as the Farmacy Green Clean and I can’t wait for my anticipated Christmas break Sephora black out shopping spree.

Toothpaste, I have given up on low waste toothpaste options. I will make a lot of sacrifices to reduce the amount of waste I produce. But toothpaste is no longer one of those things.

A couple chapsticks, we are now in the season of hand cream and lip balm.

This is another area where I am back in conventional product land. Natural deodorant gives me a rash and I have tried it all, so I am back on team Dove.

My mom sent me this hand cream for my birthday and then she also got it for me last year for Christmas. I really like it. It has a very subtle scent, it’s not greasy, and absorbs really well. And while it’s not superb for my eczema, it also doesn’t irritate it. I have no clue where she buys it though.

The normal contacts waste.

One thing I did find interesting this month is that it is all essential stuff, makeup remover, being able to see, toothpaste, deodorant, all essentials, no frivolous products; which is interesting.
