Wednesday Wants: Beauty

So this is slightly different, not only is this things I want, it’s also things I have an order placed on it. But I have run out of a ton of makeup and skincare items, which is great from the perspective of my Project Pan, but of course I’m out of the things I’m actually using on a daily purpose and am nearly through every single one of my samples and “eugh I don’t really like this” products and I draw the line at being out of moisturizer.

So I haven’t ordered all of these things, only a few, but I really want to order all of them. I’ll be spreading them out over a few months to spread the cost. Being a girl is very expensive, and even more so for clean, and eco-friendly options.

Most of these are replacements, the FAB Ultra Repair Cream and Eye Cream, Biossance Squalane and Vitamin C Rose Oil, Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm, and the Meow Meow Tweet facial bar, I love all of these products. They work great for me, and except for the Biossance oil, they aren’t super expensive. I only ordered the two First Aid Beauty products and the Biossance oil are my current order.

The Caudalie face mask comes super highly recommended, including from Meghan Donovan at Wit and Whimsy that and it is almost always sold out. I’m looking for a gentler alternative to the Murad Clarifying Mask that I used to use a lot, but as my eczema has gotten worse it’s been too harsh. It’s pushed to the end of the list though, solely because you don’t really need masks.

I think I’m probably going to order the Meow Meow Tweet facial bar this week. I’m completely out of my previous one and have been using *cringe* hand soap (eek I know) to wash my face for the past couple days. This will be my fourth re-buy of this face wash.

And then the last one is the Kjaer Weis translucent powder, which I wrote a whole blog post about my decision making powder here in my Project Pan series, I’m just waiting for it to ever come back in stock at Detox Market since I can’t figure out if their direct website ships to Canada.

Now in terms of reducing the waste produced by my beauty routine this is the compromise I’ve landed on. Only the Caudalie Detox Mask and Biossance Oil have not-recyclable components to their packaging (the dropper from the oil and the squeeze tube from the mask) The Kjaer Weis powder compact is refillable 2-3x and the Icon edition is refillable for a lifetime (I just don’t want to commit to the Icon edition until I know I like the powder), the FAB products, and Farmacy cleansing balm are in simple tubs that are easily recyclable, and the facial bar is packaging free!

I’ve been doing my makeup every day so far this week and it is super weird, especially not doing it over my normal skin care routine and without facial powder. Thank god for masks to cover up the weird spots!
