Mid-Week Procrastination

It’s another week, another round of vaccine clinics. Then I think I have a couple week of normal work schedules, although we are moving back into the office on Monday, which I am more than slightly bummed about. I’m really going to miss using my lunch hour to do chores so that I don’t have to do them in the evening. But I am looking forward to getting to meet people, there is nothing like an institution to get you to make friends.

With the Gossip Girl reboot coming up soon, why not revisit just how mad that show truly was.

I kind of love the idea that human life is lived, largely via our own hallucinations, so does it matter if other people don’t comment on your appearance, if you believe that you are hot shit?

I’ve started using toner again in the last 6 months, and I feel like my skin looks great when I use it regularly, but I have no clue if toner actually serves a purpose? First we were told it was crucial, then that it was useless, and now maybe it’s useful again?

I am not pumped for noughties fashion to come back for a multitude of reasons. The first is that we looked bad. It was bad fashion. There is a reason why there were all those meme about what teens look like now vs. when we were teens (and dressing like this for the first time round), because we looked awful. And the second is that noughties fashion, low rise jeans, and belly tops are the reason why all millenials have seriously screwed up body image. But this piece about shows a plus-size millenial daring to wear noughties fashion, and maybe I might be able to survive it’s return.

Now that I am a 20 hour drive from my beloved Kerr Street Café BEC I have started to make my own breakfast sandwiches on weekends, this makes me want to branch out to breakfast burritos and molletes.

The appeal of restaurants you have gone to forever.

I am more than a little worried about my sun exposure so far this summer and really over my whole life. I’m a ginger and I need to be a lot more careful, Carly’s post is going to be helpful in my planning.

Scarlett Johannsson is one of my favourite celebrities, I don’t think she is a natural redhead, but she carries it very well, and she is starting a skincare line. It’s not coming until 2022, but this might be a celeb brand I actually try.

I love the idea of a hotel bucketlist, I can’t afford one, but I love the idea of it.

In another ode to noughties fashion, and one of my very favourite movies, how The Devil Wears Prada is still an iconic and perfect fashion movie.

I wish more people did this, honestly review their expensive stuff and let us know if it is worth it. Because some of us have less disposable income to drop on expensive stuff.

Have a great rest of your week!

Laura
