Mid-week Procrastination

If you’re anything like me, Wednesday is your least favourite day of the week. Your productivity is slumping, the weekend is super far away still, it’s just the worst.

But here’s a few things that could help you get through the day:

A lovely story of a man who gets his wallet back 53 years later: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/09/us/paul-grisham-antarctica-lost-wallet.html?referringSource=articleShare

A list of plans for the After Times: https://thestripe.com/what-are-you-looking-forward-to/ from Grace Atwood and Carly Riordan https://carlyriordan.com/what-are-you-looking-forward-to.html

Also from Grace and her podcast partner Becca Freeman their interview with Elizabeth Gilbert is one of the most inspiring things I’ve ever listened to and one of the only podcast episodes I’ve ever listened to multiple times: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/bad-on-paper/id1364764784?i=1000506840654

Another podcast episode I’m still not over is this week’s Girls Gotta Eat, Ashley and Rayna discuss how to support someone through the loss of a pet and maybe it’s my experience in vet med but I could barely keep it together listening to it. There are so many good points in here and I think some of them could be applied to other major heartbreaks as well: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/girls-gotta-eat/id1348777092?i=1000508147891

Next up is Style Apotheca’s wardrobe editing, she is where I’ve gotten a lot of my ideas for minimalism and using what I have including the excel sheet I’m using to track my wardrobe and where I was introduced to Project Pan. This is a great video to start with:

And her blog post with the tracker: https://www.styleapotheca.com/blog/2020/9/3/tracking-my-closet-with-a-wardrobe-inventory-spreadsheet

And then next is Sedona Christina’s Going Zero Waste Kinda Ruined My Life Video. Trying to be zero waste is hard. And it means that you can’t always participate in what your friends are doing or if you do someone will inevitably comment that what you are doing creates waste, or the product you bought isn’t cruelty free and it just becomes a slog. She brings up a lot of really interesting points about Zero Waste not being sustainable, in that you can’t sustain it for a long period of time and I relate to it so much:

And when I really need a boost in my motivation I go back to Muchelle B’s reset videos and really pay attention to them, not on my phone, really paying attention, even taking notes and implementing some of the things that she is talking about in my notebook as she is talking about them.

Have a great rest of your week!

Laura
