Re-Prioritizing

I had a realization today.

I have been thinking a lot lately about balancing all of the things I do, the mandatory things and the things that are just for fun and feeling like something has to give. Even though I really am doing okay.

And today I had a realization; I have been really struggling creatively with this. This time last year I had all of these ideas for things I wanted to change with the blog and this year I’m just feeling the grind. So I think I am going to take a break. I was of course planning to take time off at the holidays, as usual. But I think tomorrow’s The Friday Edit will be my last post.

I also have to add in that it feels so weird to be writing this when I had one of my best visitor numbers days this year on Tuesday, BUT; we move.

I think the plan is that when I feel inspired, I will write something, and I may still do my usual Month-in-Review, especially the personal finance posts, and then just whatever I feel called to write.

Some of the things that I want to shift priorities on now that this will be taking a backseat is my job hunt, some courses I have been wanting to do that I think will be good for my career, working out, and my new-ish YouTube channel. Which I can’t believe I just admitted to having, I haven’t said anything to anyone about that because it is so cringe, but it’s really stretching me creatively. I have never really edited or worked with video before so it’s been an experiment. I’m not sure it’s a successful experiment yet, to be honest I’m just kind of posting and then running away. I’m not looking at stats or comments yet, it’s just an experiment and I think I’m enjoying it. It’s also been an incredible productivity tool; you have to be doing something in each video and I am getting shit done.

So that’s where we are at; I’ll see you tomorrow and then after that, I’ll see you when I see you.

Thanks so much,

Laura
