What a wild month, OMG. I feel like literally everything that could have possibly happened in a month, happened this month. Big work stuff, grown girl problems, my little sister getting married, and seeing people in person that I normally only see on a screen.

I have also been all over the place. I started off the month in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, then Thunder Bay, Ontario, then the Whitewater Region, Ontario, then Shawville, Quebec, then Ottawa, Ontario, then Huntsville, Ontario, then Bracebridge, Ontario, then ended the month in Guelph, Ontario.

I got really back into my morning walk routine for the couple weeks that I was home. They had already taken out the docks that you see extending into the water in preparation for winter before I left on the 21st.

Just more morning walk stuff, with a side of litter.

I don’t know if I was up early enough to catch the sunrise or the sunrise is now late enough for me to catch it, but I sat on the dock and did my DuoLingo a few mornings in a row.

I spent a week working out at the camp the organization I work for owns. They do youth, culture, and 2SLGBTQ+ camps out there, and it’s just so pretty.

See so pretty.

And then it was cool enough overnight, but the water is still warm from the summer so the lake was steaming in the morning.

I spent the 3rd week of September in Thunder Bay for work and a bunch of us when to the counter-protest to support 2SLGBTQ+, particularly trans and non-binary, high school students in the wake of all the bills lately requiring teachers to inform parents if the student wants to use different pronouns or a different name in class/at school. It was such an incredible atmosphere and it was really nice to be in a city to be able to participate.

Then I was home for a few days on my parents’ farm and it was so nice.

There is this really cute little winery across the river from where my parents live, on the edge of Shawville, Quebec: The Little Red Wagon Winery/ Le Vignoble Petite Chariot Rouge(it’s a very anglo area of Quebec). My Mom, grandparents and I went over partly to pick up some wine for my sister’s wedding/her maid-of-honour’s birthday since it was the day before the rehearsal for the wedding and we just like to do cute things when my grandparents are over from Ireland.

’nuff said

The wedding rehearsal.

And the dinner.

My little sister got married!

Our hotel room smelled like a florists for the couple days after that we stuck around Huntsville.

Huntsville, Ontario.

And then I spent the last day of the month getting coffee and wandering the Guelph Farmer’s Market for nostalgia’s sake before saving money by the girl at the tailors’ telling me there is nothing wrong with my rain coat zipper (bless her), before brunch with the group I volunteer with, then going to Farm Boy to get groceries for the week (I cannot believe that Guelph has Farm Boy now!) and then I ordered sushi for dinner.

I’m not eating out every night that I’m in Guelph, as much as I absolutely could. It’s just not rational or healthy. But I am going to eat out, I think 3 nights this week, including Saturday night, which was still in September.

For October, I am really looking forward to my week in Guelph, to wrapping up wedding season this coming weekend, for being at home for like at least a few hours of Thanksgiving for the first time in probably like 7 or 8 years. And then getting back into a really solid autumn routine.

And probably a hefty car repair bill ugh.

How was your September!

Laura
