Last week was such a whirlwind. The car saga continued, I picked it up on Monday, and we all believed it was fixed. I took it for a drive after work to make sure we were good, but we were in fact not good. I overheated about 5 kilometres out of town, sat on the side of the road for an hour trying to get a tow, to learn that there were no tow trucks in town. So I limped back to the garage, which thankfully was on the same side of town as I. Left it there over night, picked it up in the morning, again thinking it was fixed. Went for another test drive, and this time made it about 20-25 km before it started overheating and then had to make my way back because the tow trucks were not back. I ended up leaving her at a gas station and the mechanic came and got her later in the day because I had to get down to Thunder Bay for work.
So my colleague came and picked me up, ran me to the office to pick stuff up, and then dropped me off at home after I finished packing to drive down together for our work trip. I also bought flights home since I couldn’t drive anymore.
Then we hosted our meeting in Thunder Bay and it went really well. I’m very pleased. And then Friday I flew home!
Last week’s high: Pulling off a successful meeting, flying home.
This week’s goal: Enjoy my time off with family and my sister’s wedding!
