A Week in Outfits

This was such a wonderful week. I spent the whole week at my grandparents’ in rural Northern Ireland and then my parents joined us on Tuesday. I saw so much family and had so much fun.

Last week’s high: The whole week was a high, it was relaxing, but busy and fun and just honestly perfect.

This week’s goal: Get home, get back to normal, book flights and accommodations for my next wedding (that I should have booked ages ago).

Monday//

What I did: Accidentally slept until noon (I didn’t move at all in the night, so I was clearly exhausted after Phoenix, New York, and London), hung around my grandparents’, went up to my Uncle’s new house up the road. P.S. The pictures get better, it took me a minute to remember where the floor-length mirror was in their house.

What I wore: Dress – Old – Reitmans

Tuesday//

What I did: Slept in again, my parents arrived, went for a walk, went into the village with my parents to pick up our wedding presents and get coffee (I don’t drive over here, yet), dropped them off at the farm my Dad grew up on where his brother and family now live, went back to the same Uncle’s.

What I wore: Sweater – Old – Joe Fresh (similar, but as I’m writing this in Ireland, I’m not 100% sure where all this would be available, my search results are very different here), Shorts – Old – Joe Fresh (similar)

Wednesday//

What we did: Hung around my grandparents’ during the day, and then in the evening went over to my Mum’s best friend’s and husband’s for dinner. They have this fantastic, I don’t even know what to call it, garden party hut? it’s all brick, with a built in barbecue/fire place. To cook dinner they put charcoals in the tub and then once dinner is cooked add a whole bunch of wood to have a fire. It was such a good night. And there’s a new item added to the goals list.

What I wore: Sweater – Old – Joe Fresh (similar, see disclaimer above), Dress – Girlfriend Collective (I didn’t wear this over for our lovely tea, they dress much nicer here than at home)

Thursday//

What we did: Went to my cousin’s wedding, weddings are all day affairs here with the ceremony in the morning (and much longer than a Canadian wedding) and then the dinner and party at dinner and party time.

What I wore: Dress – Hill House Home (currently on sale for got to be close to 50% off!), Shoes – Sam Edelman (via Poshmark – cannot recommend, very uncomfortable)

Friday//

What I did: I turned 30! My Mum and Granny held a big “sausage sizzle” or barbecue for me with all my family and family friends (some of whom to be honest, I’ve seen 4 times in my life and hardly know). But it was really nice. I would put a good amount of money on it that this party was the most family I’ve ever had gathered in one room for a birthday.

What I wore: Shirt – Old – Joe Fresh (similar), Tank – Joe Fresh, Jeans – Old Navy.

Saturday//

What I did: Went into Belfast with my cousin and some of her friends to see the Barbie movie (loved it!) and then went around a few places once we were joined by a bunch of our other cousins. I never got the cousin hype before this trip, but I do now.

What I wore: Cardigan – Old – Hill House Home, Top – Old – Old Navy, Jeans – Old Navy

Sunday//

What we did: Went up to Portstewart on the North Coast (aka my favorite place in the whole world) and had a really lovely dinner at Amici, and then got 99s at Morelli’s (everyone from the UK will understand that phrase).

What I wore: Bodysuit – Aritzia, Dress – Old – Hill House Home (same silhouette).

It’s back to porridge now as of this post going live, so talk to you tomorrow!

Laura
